As an American who grew up in Hong Kong, Chantal discovered her love of fantasy while navigating life far from home. Like her characters, she’s battled her own demons—drawing from her experiences with depression and childhood trauma to shape THOSE EYES DIVINE’s exploration of healing and self-acceptance. Her mission is to inspire young readers to reclaim themselves, even when the world tries to control their destinies.

Presently, she lives in Oakland, CA with her other half.
